Program Name
AnswerBot Missed-Call Text-Back
What is AnswerBot?
AnswerBot is an automated SMS service for small businesses. When a customer calls a business that uses AnswerBot and the call goes unanswered, our system automatically sends the caller an SMS text message within 30 seconds. The AI then handles a text conversation to capture the caller's needs and contact information, and delivers a lead summary to the business owner.
How Consent Works (Call to Action)
For callers (end users who receive texts): Consent to receive text messages is implied when a person calls a business that uses AnswerBot and the call goes unanswered. The act of calling the business phone number is the opt-in trigger. Only the person who placed the call receives a text-back message. AnswerBot does not send unsolicited messages to numbers that have not called.
For businesses (subscribers): When a business signs up for AnswerBot at answerbot.ca, they agree to these SMS Program Terms and our Terms of Service. The business authorizes AnswerBot to send automated text messages on their behalf to callers who do not reach them.
What You Will Receive (Sample Messages)
When you call a business that uses AnswerBot and the call goes unanswered, you will receive a text message like one of the following:
- "Hi, thanks for calling [Business Name]. We missed your call — how can we help? Msg frequency varies. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- "Thanks for calling [Business Name]. A team member will follow up with you directly. Msg frequency varies. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
If you reply, the AI assistant will continue the conversation to understand what you need and capture your contact information for the business. If you do not reply, you may receive up to 4 follow-up messages over 7 days.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. A caller will receive one initial text-back message per missed call. If the caller replies, additional messages will be exchanged as part of the AI conversation. If the caller does not reply, AnswerBot may send up to 4 follow-up messages over a 7-day period. The total number of messages depends on the length of the conversation.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Recipients should check with their wireless carrier for details on applicable charges. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message from AnswerBot to immediately stop receiving messages from that business. You will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. You may also reply ARRET (French opt-out for Canadian recipients).
Additional opt-out keywords: CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL
How to Get Help
Reply HELP or INFO to any message to receive support information. You can also contact us at info@answerbot.ca.
CASL Compliance (Canada)
AnswerBot complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Text messages are sent based on implied consent from the caller's missed call, which is valid for 6 months under CASL. Every message includes opt-out instructions. When a recipient replies STOP or ARRET, they are immediately removed from all future messages. Consent evidence is documented in our platform at the time of each call.
Mobile Information Sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade mobile phone numbers or any personal information collected through the SMS program. Your mobile information is used solely to provide the AnswerBot missed-call text-back service and deliver lead information to the business you called.
Privacy
Caller phone numbers, message content, and lead data are processed and stored as described in our Privacy Policy. All data is stored in Canada (ca-central-1 region).
