AnswerBot is a missed call text-back service for trades and home-service businesses in Canada and the United States. When a call to your shop rings out, it texts the caller back from a dedicated local number within about 30 seconds, asks what the job is and where, and emails you the lead. It is run as a sole proprietorship based in Mississauga, Ontario, and has been live since May 2026. Plans are $129, $199 and $349 CAD a month.
There are a lot of products with "answer" and "bot" in the name, so this page is the plain record of which one this is, what it does, and just as importantly what it does not do.

A call to your business rings out. Within about 30 seconds the caller gets a text from a dedicated local number, answers a few questions about the job in their own time, and the details land in your inbox as a lead you can call back.
Built for trades and home services
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, garage door, locksmith, towing, appliance repair, landscaping and auto repair. The intake questions differ by trade because a dispatcher's would: plumbing asks whether the shut-off is reachable, roofing asks the storm date and whether insurance is involved.
Canadian, and compliant on both sides of the border
Run from Mississauga, Ontario. Every message carries a STOP opt-out as CASL requires, and ARRET for French opt-out. The database is hosted in Canada; telephony, payments and email run on US providers, which the privacy policy names.
What AnswerBot is not
Not an AI voice receptionist
Nothing ever answers your phone with a synthetic voice. People hang up on those. The caller gets a text and you make the call back yourself.
Not a booking tool or a CRM
It does not book appointments, sync calendars, take payments or run pipelines. It captures the lead and hands it to you. A caller who asks for a price is told you will call them back.
Not a phone system
You keep your existing business number and your existing carrier. AnswerBot receives only the calls you did not answer, through a conditional call forwarding code you dial once.

Privacy and compliance
Every text carries a STOP opt-out, and ARRET for French, which is what CASL requires. Implied consent runs six months from the caller's own inbound call, because they called you first. Caller data is retained under a published schedule and deleted on request under PIPEDA.
The database is hosted in Canada. Telephony, payments and email are handled by Twilio, Stripe and Postmark, which are United States providers. Both facts are set out in the privacy policy.
Where it runs
Mississauga, Ontario, serving the GTA and the rest of Canada, plus the United States. Customers get a local number for their own area code where one is available, so a caller in the GTA sees a 416, 647, 365 or 905 number rather than a toll-free or out-of-country one.
